The Sculpture Park at Madhavendra Palace, Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur

Second Edition December 07, 2017 to November 1, 2018

Curated by Peter Nagy

The inaugural exhibition featured four monumental sculptures by Huma Bhabha, Subodh Gupta, Bhart Kher and Thukral & Tagra occupying the courtyard, while Vikram Goyal created an ensemble of brass finials for the rooftop. The Maharaja’s apartment contained a suite of French furniture from the 18th Century that had been partially burnt before being cast in bronze by the celebrated father of Nouveau Realism Arman. This continued with the theme of works based on domestic objects that were selected for the exhibition, bringing a sense of life back into the palace which once was home to part of the Royal Harem and their extended families and servants.
