About The Work
Courtesy of Round Them Oranges, Jaipur
Lines of inquiry trace a movement through space. A gracious sweep of arching movement that bounces back into itself and returns towards the centre. Each strand negotiates the next until a complete, complex puzzle is made that is simultaneously bemusing and clear. It is a work that is full of energy yet quiet in its clarity. Entirely abstract, yet anthropomorphic echoes can be glimpsed. The gesture of an arm, the knot of a knuckled hand. It articulates the movement of a living thing but remains entirely still.
What remains of the paths we travel when we turn the corner or move out of sight? A faint fragrance, a memory distilled, no longer a fact but an abstract line of thought.
