About The Work
Courtesy of Gallery Maskara, Mumbai
Pandey reawakens our perception of everyday life by defying conventional logic when it comes to ways of seeing discarded objects. Through his use of found, recycled, and reclaimed materials, Pandey uses by-products of human activity in innovative ways, interrupting the utilitarian cycle of everyday life. His untitled work for the Sculpture Park is made up of delicate, leaf-like forms that curl in the breeze, constructed from cigarette butts, taking unpleasant detritus and turning it into something both unrecognizable and elegant.
